Oil on canvas, 12”x12”
(Click on the image to view the full painting)
This piece is a reimagining of the Slavic witch, Baba Yaga on an adventure exploring the city in her youth through a forest portal with her chicken footed house. Baba Yaga is often seen as a feminist icon representing independence, a mediator between life and death, as well as the embodiment of one’s shadow - the qualities that one rejects in oneself.
